Louise is the ITAS Coordinator/Project Officer. Prior to completing her formal education, Louise Wason worked for 10 years in the Education field as a teacher aide. In 2003, Louise graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from James Cook University. She prefers the area of Criminal Law and Family Law, with a particular preference to work with Indigenous women and juveniles. Currently, her interest is directed towards a group called Mothers Crying Out for Help (whose children are caught up in alcohol and substance abuse, petrol and paint sniffing). She is also in the process of making application to become an Indigenous Convenor with the Community Conference Program which has been put in place by the Department of Families.
