2007 TEACHING PERIODS & STUDY PERIODS
The academic year is divided into two teaching periods: 1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December. You can access further information by clicking here
There are 12 study periods (SP) spread across the two teaching periods (TP ).
Each Study Period (SP) has a designated start and end date, census date, date for addition or substitution without approval of subject coordinator, date for withdrawal without academic penalty (fail), and date for release of subject results. Most subjects fall into Study Period 1 (previously called semester 1) or Study Period 2 (semester 2).
CENSUS DATE – A student’s enrolment in a subject is considered to be finalised as at close of business on the last working day on or before the census date.
Students are liable for student contribution amounts, tuition fees or international student fees for subjects in which they are enrolled after the census date for the subject. Withdrawals from subjects must be made, in writing, by the close of business on the last working day on or before the census date.
Government legislation specifies that a student cannot enrol in a subject as a Commonwealth supported student after the census date for the subject.
